The riverĪnd creek contain an abundance of waterfowl and fish.Ī power line runs along the middle road down to the bluff, near the confluence of Deep River and Bear Creek. A cleared home site is located in this area which contains a four bedroom septic system and a well. The home site is located high above the river. Deep Creek is home to three cascading waterfalls - Tom Branch, Indian Creek and Juney Whank - which can all be accessed easily by venturing down the Waterfall Loop, a 2.4-mile, easy hike that passes all three falls. An old mill and dam are visible along Bear Creek. Most of the land along Deep River and BearĬreek is outside of the flood plain, and many areas contain high bluffs.Ī road provides access to the confluence of Deep River and BearĬreek. The property is located at the confluence of Deep River and Bear Creek, about four miles north of Robbins in northern Moore County, NC. Access is from Hussey Road (SR 1496), which dead-ends on the propertyįrom Robbins, take highway 705 North and turn right unto SR 1470 at the edge of town. After 2 miles, turn left on SR 1419 (Reynolds Mill Rd), go about 1 mile, turn right onto SR 1496 (Hussey Rd), follow to end of pavement (there will be a house on your left). Continue driving beyond pavement for several hundred feet, bear to the right onto the property. Look for a sign and flagging. This section has a couple class I/II rapids mostly flat water. CLASS I-II 9.5 miles I paddled this section on Memorial Day 2013. The property contains many deer and turkeys. Moore county, North Carolina Route 22 to Route 1006 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information. Several rocky streams flow through property. The topography is varied from nearly level to steep bluffs along the river. Four acres contain old fields which could easily be cleared and used as fields or food plots. The bulk of the property contains hardwood timber. With two miles of excellent interior roads, all areas of the property are easily accessible by vehicle. The Deep River is the eastern boundary for approximately 2,304 feet, while Bear Creek forms the southern and western boundary lines for approximately 4,111 feet. Hussey Road is the only access to this property. ![]()
